Quantum efficiency enhancement in nanocrystals using nonradiative energy transfer with optimized donor-acceptor ratio for hybrid LEDs

چکیده
The quantum efficiency enhancement in nanocrystal solids is critically important for their efficient use as luminophors on color-conversion light emitting diodes LEDs . For this purpose, we investigate energy gradient mixture of nanocrystal solids for recycling their trapped excitons by varying their donor-acceptor nanocrystal ratios and study the resulting quantum efficiency enhancement as a function of the donor-acceptor ratio in the solid film for hybrid LEDs. We achieve a maximum quantum efficiency enhancement of 17% in these nanocrystal solids when the donor-acceptor ratio is 1:1, demonstrating their highly modified time-resolved photoluminescence decays to reveal the kinetics of strong energy transfer between them. © 2009 American Institute of Physics. Resonant nonradiative energy transfer in CdSe/ZnS core/shell nanocrystal solids enhances hybrid white light emitting diodes.
We propose and demonstrate hybrid white light emitting diodes enhanced with resonant nonradiative energy transfer in CdSe/ZnS core/shell nanocrystal solids integrated on near-UV InGaN/GaN LEDs. We observe a relative quantum efficiency enhancement of 13.2 percent for the acceptor nanocrystals in the energy gradient mixed assembly, compared to the monodisperse phase. This enhancement is attribute...

Here we report CdSe nanoplatelets that are incorporated into color-converting CdSe/ZnS nanocrystals for InGaN/GaN light-emitting diodes. The critical role of CdSe nanoplatelets as an exciton donor for the color conversion was experimentally investigated. The power conversion efficiency of the hybrid light-emitting diode was found to increase by 23% with the incorporation of the CdSe nanoplatele...

We report a practical implementation of high-efficiency color conversion in an electrically pumped light-emitting diode (LED) using nonradiative energy transfer. On the basis of a new LED design that offers both strong energy-transfer coupling and efficient carrier injection, we show that a hybrid structure comprising a single monolayer of CdSe nanocrystals assembled on top of an InGaN/GaN quan...

Much of the current research into semiconductor nanocrystal (NC) photochemistry has focused on their potential application as biological reporters, as light harvesting elements in solar energy conversion systems, or as tunable emitters in light-emitting diodes (LEDs). These applications all necessitate energy or charge-carrier transfer between semiconductor materials and molecular species. For ...
متن کاملObservation of selective plasmon-exciton coupling in nonradiative energy transfer: donor-selective versus acceptor-selective plexcitons.
We report selectively plasmon-mediated nonradiative energy transfer between quantum dot (QD) emitters interacting with each other via Förster-type resonance energy transfer (FRET) under controlled plasmon coupling either to only the donor QDs (i.e., donor-selective) or to only the acceptor QDs (i.e., acceptor-selective). Using layer-by-layer assembled colloidal QD nanocrystal solids with metal ...
